Dingyadi hails Tinubu’s economic reforms, backs APC to retain power

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, has acknowledged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms have imposed temporary hardship on Nigerians, but insisted that the measures were necessary to rescue the country from a deeper economic crisis.

Dingyadi stated this in a statement issued on Saturday to commemorate the first anniversary of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the ruling APC.

According to him, although the reforms initially brought economic difficulties, Nigerians are beginning to witness the positive impact through ongoing infrastructure development and various government intervention programmes across the country.

He maintained that the implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to strengthen public confidence in the APC, expressing optimism that the ruling party is well positioned to retain power in the 2027 general elections.

Dingyadi attributed the party’s growing popularity to the leadership of Professor Yilwatda, whom he said assumed office at a critical period and has since repositioned the APC by strengthening internal democracy, promoting reconciliation among stakeholders and preparing the party for future electoral contests.

He noted that under Yilwatda’s leadership, the APC has become a more disciplined, inclusive and people-oriented political platform, with improved cooperation among members of the National Working Committee, party elders and other stakeholders.

According to him, one of the administration’s major achievements within the past year has been the reconciliation of aggrieved members and the promotion of consensus-building across various interests within the party, resulting in greater unity and cohesion nationwide.

Dingyadi also said activities at the APC National Secretariat have become more professional, with increased emphasis on accountability, innovation and efficient administration.

He added that the party has expanded its engagement with youths, women, persons with disabilities and other interest groups, while consolidating its structures at the ward, local government and state levels.

“The APC has witnessed renewed unity, expanding nationwide support and stronger internal cohesion under the leadership of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, Dingyadi said the solid foundation laid by the National Chairman has positioned the APC for another victory in 2027.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the APC, describing it as a party committed to democratic ideals, national development and inclusive governance.

Dingyadi further reiterated that the ruling party remains open to new members and will continue strengthening its internal structures while working to deliver greater dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
