The Coalition of Pro-Biafra Groups (COPROBIG) has asked Igbo youths to resist the temptation of participating in the proposed national protest, alleging that it is a plot against Igboland.

The Coalition of Pro-Biafra Groups (COPROBIG) has asked Igbo youths to resist the temptation of participating in the proposed national protest, alleging that it is a plot against Igboland.

The groups stated that the week-long protest is a “subtle plot to lure the youths of Ndigbo to their early graves,” and therefore, urged them to go about their normal business on those days.

In a statement released after their meeting in Enugu, they also said that they have cancelled all pro-Biafra activities within the period, “so as not to give security agents an opportunity to kill the people of Biafra.”

Those who signed the statement include the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Uchenna Madu; Innocent Amadi of Billie Human Rights Initiative (BHRI); Festus Obiorah of Biafra Liberation Council (BLC); Rev Chioma Ajah of Biafra Revolutionary Organization (BRO); and Anya Kalu of Biafra Reconciliation (BR), among others.

The Coalition, a non-violent body, which restated its resolve to use legal, political, and diplomatic methods to realise Biafra, further declared that there will be no sit-at-home in Biafra land during the week-long national protest.

The group also chided presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga over his allegation against Peter Obi.

The group said, “Bayo Onanuga should shift his searchlight and advise his master’s led federal government of Nigeria to fix her economy that is seriously nose diving into an undesirable state of decay, rather than laying blames on Peter Obi, who, with other well-meaning Nigerian citizens, have the right to criticise the economic situation of the Nigerian nation.

“The week-long protest is born out of economic frustrations and hunger meted on the citizens of Nigeria as a result of the cluelessness, impunity, and high corruption of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government.

“The federal government has inflicted much hunger on citizens of Nigeria. The citizens are protesting.

“Onanuga and his allies should know that an attempt to dent Peter Obi is a serious provocation of the spirits of our ancestors and all the progressives that occupy this surface earth.”
