PROMAD, a civic tech organisation, has called for increased youth and community empowerment to foster accountable governance.

The organisation made the call in anticipation of the 10th session of the Conference of State Parties (CoSP10), organised by the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

PROMAD’s founder and Executive Director, Daisi Omokungbe, who is representing the organisation at CoSP10, stressed the importance of citizen participation and the demand for accountability in combating corruption.

Scheduled to commence today in Atlanta, Georgia, the conference, according to a statement made available to our correspondent, yesterday, aims to unite state parties, civil society organisations, and academia from over 190 countries.

Omokungbe, who noted that plans to engage in pre-events, main plenary sessions, and side events aligned with PROMAD’s thematic areas and initiatives, have been concluded, said PROMAD’s participation will extend to events such as Young Change Makers gathering, Civil Society Forum, discussions on New Technologies and Public Funds Integrity, and sessions addressing Digitising Public Procurement for Integrity, among others.
