I am ready for investigation,
I’ve nothing to hide, says Pam

The Pilgrims Society of Nigeria (PSN) has urged probe of the Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam, over alleged corrupt practices.

The group, in an 11-page petition signed by PSN Chairman, Mr. Adamu Malgwi and addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, alleged that Pam used his office to enrich himself to the detriment of the Commission.

The PSN, while calling on the anti-graft agencies to probe the Secretary, called for immediate investigation of Pam and should be prosecuted if found guilty of corrupt practices.

MEANWHILE, Pam has, however, denied the allegations, saying that he is ready to be investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The NCPC secretary said his accusers should approach the anti-graft agency to investigate the commission.

Pam, who urged the people to disregard the allegations, said: “If you have any allegation against the commission, get your facts ready and call the EFCC. I urge the public to disregard all these misinformation.”

“I will appeal to all our critical stakeholders to disregard any allegation on mismanagement of funds in the organisation.

“By the design and operations of NCPC, we are supposed to be given pilgrimage operational budget every year, in fact, twice a year.

“We have two pilgrimages in a year, but since I came, this is the third pilgrimage performed under one budget, we have done three operations with it, which is Jordan, Israel and Rome.”
