Katsina State Governor, Dr Dikko Radda has called on Nigerians to sustain in their supplications for a quick end to the security challenges bedeviling the country.
Rada made the call weekend at the wedding ceremony of two children of the member representing Mashi/Dutsi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Salisu Majigiri, held at the central mosque, Mashi council area.
The governor said government at both state and federal level, was not resting but has rather intensified efforts aimed at tackling the security situation in the country
He, however, said that Nigerians need to complement government effort by doing their part in addressing the challenge, one of which is continued supplication for a speedy end to the problem .
The wedding event which saw a male and female children of the lawmaker given out in marriage, had Governor Radda serving as the Wakili or Representative of the groom, Yusuf Majigiri.
Former governor of the state, Dr. Ibrahim Shema served as the Waliyya or Guardian of the bride, Maryam, with the event witnessing a large turnout of distinguished leaders within and outside the country.
Some of the dignitaries in attandance include the state deputy governor, Faruk Jobe; Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya; Deputy chief of staff representing Rt. Speaker Abbas Tajudeen; Chief of staff to the Katsina State Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman; the owner of Mangal Airlines, Alh. Dahiru Mangal; and several members of National Assembly across the country.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Legal Adviser, Barr. Murtala Aliyu; state APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo, the State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Dr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari; Commissioners; Special Advisers; senior government officials and retired civil servants also attended the event.
Others include representatives of Emirs of Katsina and Daura; District heads and other traditional rulers; heads of security agencies; religious leaders; Members of different political parties, among others.
Hon. Majigiri, who expressed happiness to see two of his children getting married, also expressed profound appreciation to dignitaries that found time to attend the event.
The ceremony also saw special prayers offered for the couples for peaceful coexistence, unity and understanding, asking for God’s blessings upon their unions with peace, love, understanding, good health and prosperity.
