Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated Muslims across the state and beyond on the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan, urging them to use the period for spiritual cleansing, unity, and prayers for peace.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri described Ramadan as a significant pillar of Islam, emphasizing that the fasting period serves as an opportunity for the faithful to strengthen their devotion to Allah.

“I congratulate Muslims in Adamawa State on the commencement of Ramadan because it is a privilege to witness that of 2025,” the Governor stated.

“I urge you to use this period to move closer to Allah and rededicate yourselves to the teachings of the Holy Quran as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).”

Acknowledging the security challenges facing the nation, Fintiri called on worshippers to remain vigilant, even as the government continues to put structures in place to ensure their safety.

“Although the government has put all structures in place to ensure the safety of residents, they have every reason to be vigilant,” he cautioned.

The Governor also stressed the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence, urging Nigerians to reject divisions and work together for a more secure and harmonious country.

“As a people, we can achieve a lot more in a peaceful atmosphere, and all that is required is love for one another and commitment to work for the peace and unity of the country,” he said.

Governor Fintiri further called on adherents of all religions to uphold Adamawa’s reputation as a state known for peace and tolerance. He encouraged Muslims to use the holy month to offer prayers for the state and the nation.

“As we seek the face of Allah in this holy month, let us hold dear the lessons of the Holy Prophet and pray earnestly for peace in the country,” he added.
