Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo, has warned lecturers against selling textbooks and handouts to students of the institution as condition for passing examinations.

Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo, has warned lecturers against selling textbooks and handouts to students of the institution as condition for passing examinations.

He gave the warning, yesterday, as Women in Leadership positions in Kogi State Polytechnic, were honouring him for his outstanding achievement in the last one year as rector of the institution.

Noting the institution’s aversion to handouts and textbooks sale, he stressed that some lecturers of the institution were already angry over the policy.

According to him, lecturers in other Kogi-owned institutions never sold handouts and textbooks to students and wondered why some lecturers in Kogi poly are trying to make life difficult for the students.

He said that his administration would do everything possible to make the institution one of the best in the country.

Describing Ogbo as a gender-friendly and detrabilised leader, the organisers of the event prayed that his tenure would continue to yield fruits for the people of Kogi and Nigeria in general.

In her address, the Dean, School of General Studies, Mrs Lola Balagbogbo, while appreciating the rector for his exemplary leadership style, described him as a firm believer in gender equality like Governor Yahaya Bello.
