The Registrar of the Certified Institute of Auctioneers, Mr. Hassan Adeleke has implored government to adopt the institute’s policy to reduce corruption and increase revenue being remitted to the government.

He said other government agencies should also adopt the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC’s) recent approach of auctioning confiscated properties by ensuring only trained and well-established auctioneers are selected to handle the sales of such property to ensure transparency.

“Early this year, the Lagos State Government introduced Auctioneers laws 2015 to regulate the issuance of auction licenses.

The LASG Auction license permits the holders to sell real estate, chattels and other form of personal properties.”
