Steps up fight against COVID-19
The member representing Afijio State Constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, Seyi Adisa, yesterday, appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to urgently rehabilitate the collapsed Odo-Aro Bridge in his constituency.
The bridge, which links Imini and Ilora communities in Afijio Local Council, reportedly collapsed following a heavy downpour last month.
Adisa made the appeal while moving a matter of urgent public importance motion at plenary.
Besides, Afijio urged the governor to direct the Oyo State Ministry of Works and Transport to commence rehabilitation work on Odo-Aro Bridge or at least put some palliative measures in place to ease the pains inflicted on the people as a result of the collapse.
Meanwhile, the House, in its resolve, also called on the leadership of Afijio Local Council to equally put some palliative measures in place and equally see to the repair of the road leading to the collapsed Odo-Aro Bridge, which is said to be in a deplorable state.
