They complained that some of the roads, especially at Majekodunmi and Adeoyo streets, left unattended for over a decade have worsened as a result of the rains.

They also appealed to the council chairman, Emmanuel Bamigboye, to consider repairing the roads

A shop owner at Majekodunmi street, Suleman Adamu, said the road is now impassable, while motorists, who dared had their vehicles damaged due to bad spots.

He said: “The roads leading to our homes are not passable by cars or tricycles, we have to trek some distance to come to our homes, and most vehicles that try to pass through this route end up breaking down,” He said.

“We have to avoid the route because we can’t risk damaging our means of livelihood. We ply the route during the dry season because we can easily manoeuvre, but the rain has worsened the situation.

A teacher who lives at Adeoyo street, Daniel Omenka, described the situation as painful and heartrending and needs urgent action to save residents from mental stress.

“We have complained severally to our representatives but we are yet to get any response from them. The government needs to fix the roads soon,” he said.

Contacted, the Director, Public Affairs Department in Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Shina Odunuga, said the government is yet to get complaints from residents.
