Abdul Rasheeth, the Special Assistant on Media to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the National Security Adviser, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, for slamming the Canadian embassy after it came to light that they denied visas to the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS Christopher Musa, and other army chiefs.

The NSA hit hard at the embassy, saying they “can go to hell” for their action which he described as “painful and disrespectful.”

Ribadu said this on Thursday at the Yar’adua Centre, Abuja, the venue of the maiden annual lecture of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies (AANISS).

Reacting, Atiku’s aide described the NSA’s statement as deficient in diplomatic nuance.

“I find the statement by the NSA concerning Canada rejecting the CDS visa to be not only inappropriate but also deficient in diplomatic nuance.

“It fails to acknowledge the intricacies of our bilateral relations and undermines the spirit of cooperation that has historically characterized our interactions.

“Such remarks can exacerbate tensions and do not reflect the careful consideration that diplomatic communication necessitates,” he said on X.
