Rivers Assembly set to screen commissioner-nominees

The Rivers State House of Assembly is getting set to screen nine nominees for appointment into the Rivers State Executive Council, directing them to submit detailed documentation as part of the confirmation process.
 
In a special announcement dated March 3, 2026, and signed by the Clerk of the House, Dr Emeka Amadi, the nominees were instructed to provide 40 copies of their Curriculum Vitae, along with photocopies of their academic and professional credentials and proof of tax compliance.
 
Those listed for consideration include Prof. Datonye Alasia, Mr Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Mrs Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, Mr Lekue Kenneth, Otonye Amachree, and Amairigha Edward Hart.
 
The statement specified that all required documents must be submitted to the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly quarters of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
 
The development marks the formal take-off of the legislative vetting process, which will culminate in the screening and possible confirmation of the nominees as commissioners.
