Rivers State branch of the National Association of Primary Healthcare workers has issued 21 days notice to the state government to comply with payment of their Consolidated Health Salary Structure.
The association, in a statement by its Chairman, Daniel Atiemie, at the weekend, lamented the failure of the government to pay the new national minimum wage and the absence of promotion of primary healthcare workers for the past 10 years
Atemie said: “Amongst the issue the association is faced with are: Non-promotion of primary health workers in Rivers State for over a decade, non-payment of Consolidated Health Salary Structure to primary health care workers in Rivers State.”
The association urged the state government to address all issues or leave them with no option but to down tools.
