Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to appear before its Committee on Works next week Monday for interrogation following public outcries over alleged substandard job on the dualisation of the Bori-Kono road in Khana Council of the State.

Rivers Assembly summons contractors of road projects over substandard job to appear before its Committee on Works next week Monday for interrogation following public outcries over alleged substandard job on the dualisation of the Bori-Kono road in Khana Council of the State.

Chairman of the House Committee on Works, Michael Chinda, who spoke with newsmen at the ongoing budget defence, said: “For the contractor handling the Bori-Kono axis of the Saakpenwa-Kono Road and the Omoku-Egbema road, the director of work has been directed to come with them here on Monday to answer some questions.”

Chinda also directed that the company handling the dualisation of Omoku-Egbema Road in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area be invited too.

He hinted that his committee might likely alter the budget for the Ministry of Works to accommodate some internal roads in the state.

Recall that there have been lots of outcries from concerned citizens of the state on the shabby job being done on the two roads.
