RMAFC commends Akwa Ibom’s governance, economic contributions

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has commended Akwa Ibom State for its outstanding governance and significant contributions to Nigeria’s economy, describing Governor Umo Eno’s administration as purposeful and development-driven.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit to Governor Eno at the Government House, Uyo, by a delegation of the Commission led by Federal Commissioner, Prof. Olusegun Adekunle Wright.

Speaking on behalf of the Commission, Prof. Wright acknowledged the pivotal role Akwa Ibom State continues to play in Nigeria’s economic growth and national development.

He described the state as a symbol of resilience, enterprise and visionary leadership, noting that it has consistently ranked among the country’s leading contributors to economic and social progress.

According to him, the people of Akwa Ibom have distinguished themselves through their industrious nature, peaceful disposition, entrepreneurial drive and commitment to excellence.

Prof. Wright further lauded the state’s achievements in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education, aviation, tourism and human capital development, describing them as evidence of transformational governance.

He noted that the state’s progress demonstrates what can be achieved through prudent resource management, visionary leadership and a collective commitment to development.

The commissioner disclosed that the RMAFC team was in the state to conduct the South-South verification and data-collection exercise aimed at enhancing and standardising the Commission’s national financial service-delivery framework.

He also appreciated the Akwa Ibom State Government for its continued cooperation and support in helping the Commission carry out its statutory responsibilities.

Responding, Governor Eno welcomed the delegation and assured members of the team of a conducive environment and the full support of his administration throughout the exercise.

The governor expressed appreciation for the Commission’s positive assessment of the state and pledged to sustain initiatives that would further improve the welfare of the people.

He also acknowledged the timely release of improved allocations to states by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the funds have enabled sub-national governments to undertake impactful development projects and improve living conditions for citizens.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Head of Civil Service, Mrs Elsie Peters; Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Adviser to the Governor, Mr Aniefiok Johnson; commissioners and other senior government officials.

Members of the RMAFC delegation included Federal Commissioners Barr. Imo Akpan, Hon. Rakiya Tanko Ayuba-Haruna, Prof. Steve Ugba and Mr Modu Aji-Juluri, alongside directors and other officials of the Commission
