Rotaract Club of Egbeda pledges education, skills training for residents


The Rotaract Club of Egbeda has unveiled plans to empower the local community through education, skills training, and employment opportunities. The club’s newly inducted 14th President, Ogochukwu January Onwuka, announced the initiatives during her investiture ceremony in Lagos. She highlighted the importance of giving back to society and outlined the club’s commitment to improving the lives of Egbeda residents.

The club will organise a debate competition for interactive clubs, with winners receiving sponsorship for their National Examination Council (NECO) fees. Additionally, vocational skills acquisition training and employment opportunities will be provided for people with disabilities.

“I am committed to upholding the organisation’s vision and mission,” President Onwuka declared in her acceptance speech. “With your unwavering support, collective ideas, expertise, and collaborative efforts, we will make a significant difference in our community.”

Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, Chairman of Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), offered his encouragement through Comrade Tayo Ayinde, Supervisor for Market and Revenue. “The club should keep moving,” he urged. “They should remember that doing good has its rewards.”

Guest speaker Dr Akerele Oluseun Gbolahan highlighted the “Importance of Networking in Modern Day Life.”

He said networking enhances business and social life. Gbolahan also charged the new president with positively impacting the community.
