The appointed caretaker committee chairmen of the 20 local councils of Bauchi State are seeking legal redress as to why Governor Bala Mohammed disengaged them before the expiration of their tenure.

The former caretaker Chairman of Bauchi Local Council, Alhaji Chindo Abdu, who spoke on behalf of others, said that they were appointed by former Governor Mohammad Abubakar and their tenure was expected to end in September this year.He said the governor disengaged them without allegedly taking into cognisance the law that appointed them, which stipulated that they were to serve for nine months.

Abdu said they were asking the court to order the reinstatement and payment of their salary arrears and outstanding allowances allegedly withheld by the governor.
