Sallah: Abiru distributes food, livestock in Lagos East as Jandor greets Muslims

As Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has extended support to thousands of constituents in the Lagos East Senatorial District through a large-scale distribution of food and livestock.

The gesture saw food packs delivered to over 12,000 households, alongside the distribution of 75 cows and 200 rams to royal fathers, political leaders, clerics, and community stakeholders. Each food pack, containing staples such as rice and garri, was branded with the names of President Bola Tinubu and Senator Abiru, aligning with Abiru’s #DoingGood initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable populations.

Speaking during the event, Senator Abiru reaffirmed his dedication to the well-being of his constituents. “This programme reflects our continued commitment to the welfare of the people of Lagos East, especially during seasons of spiritual reflection and celebration like Eid-el-Kabir,” he said.

Community leaders, including Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, commended the senator for his consistent outreach and humanitarian efforts.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR), Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and former PDP gubernatorial candidate, has extended warm Eid greetings to Muslims in Lagos and across Nigeria.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, JANDOR emphasised the spiritual importance of Eid-el-Kabir, describing it as a reminder of obedience, sacrifice, and unwavering trust in God, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

He also acknowledged the early economic challenges under President Tinubu’s administration, including the removal of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, but described signs of economic rebound as promising.

“While the road may seem tough, there are genuine efforts being made by the Tinubu-led administration to reposition the country and improve the lives of Nigerians,” he stated.

JANDOR urged citizens to remain united, resilient, and supportive of reforms across critical sectors.

“I wish all Muslim Ummah a peaceful and joyous celebration as we pray for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Lagos State and Nigeria at large,” he concluded.
