Senate President, Bukola Saraki yesterday condoled with the family of the Balogun Fulani of Ilorin, Alhaji Mahmud Durosinlohun Atiku who died at the age of 76.

In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki described the death of the elder statesman as a personal loss to him and the Ilorin emirate, the government and people of Kwara State and the entire country.

He stated that the contributions of the deceased to the development of Ilorin during his 15-year reign as Balogun cannot be quantified.

Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has commiserated with the people of the town over the demise of Alhaji Atiku.

Atiku was on until his death the most senior chief in his category in Ilorin Emirate Council.

He has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari described the deceased as a competent and loyal chief whose experience would be missed in the administration of the emirate.
