Save Anambra Group buys APC governorship form for Edozie Madu

Political stakeholders in Anambra State have urged Edozie Madu to contest the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence in his ability to address the state’s pressing security challenges.
The appeal came after members of the Save Anambra Movement (SAM) took it upon themselves to purchase the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Madu at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday evening.
Presenting the form to Madu at his office in Maitama, Abuja, the group, led by Ikechukwu Okafor, described him as the best candidate to tackle Anambra’s security issues and drive the state towards sustainable development.
Madu, a seasoned APC stalwart from Owelle Ezukalla in Orumba South Local Government Area, previously contested in the 2021 APC governorship primaries, where Senator Andy Uba emerged as the party’s candidate. Uba, however, lost the 2021 Anambra governorship election to Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is expected to secure APGA’s ticket for the 2025 governorship election and seek a second term. However, the Save Anambra Movement believes that this election cycle will be different, particularly with assurances of a free and fair primary from APC National Chairman Umar Ganduje.
According to SAM, Madu stands out among APC aspirants due to his grassroots credibility, extensive political network, and strong ties with party leaders at the national level.
