Security operatives foil pipeline vandalism in Kaduna

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have foiled an attempt by vandals to burst oil pipeline at Juji in Chikun Local Council of the state.

This follows its determination to end pipeline vandalism in the country.

Its Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Orndiir Terzungwe, said in a statement that the operatives acted on information from stakeholders.

He said the command’s anti-vandal operatives on their routine patrol of the pipelines in the area, mobilised swiftly to the scene at about 0013hours on October 13, 2018.

“On KM 284.7 of the Warri–Kaduna Refinery Crude Oil pipeline, the suspected vandals sighted the officers and took to their heels, abandoning a DAF Tanker with Kano registration number AH 535 KUR.

“Items recovered at the scene include two rolls of hose pipes, a small Tiger generator, a hammer, a punching rod and one big hoe,” he said.

Terzungwe added that the Corps Commandant in the state, Modu Bunu, who spoke on the incident, expressed delight at the collaboration with the informants and urged law abiding citizens of the state to partner with the corps for security of lives and property.
