International Church Growth Ministry in partnership with Ivory Solicitors, Maryland will on Wednesday April 4, 2018 in Lagos hold a seminar with the theme, “ Church and the Law.”

It is based on the axiom that ignorance of the law is not an excuse. The seminar’s core subjects will based on church registration and trustees. It is about the position of the church overseers, founders and pastors during registration, that is, if legally they are qualified to be among the trustees, legal boobytraps to avoid as well as questions for churches and pastors. Others are the place and power of church constitutions, how to avoid jail as a founder, conflict resolutions strategies as well as the primary and secondary purpose of the church in the society and other issues.

According to Dr. Francis Bola Akin-John, an erudite scholar and coordinator of the programme: “This year’s seminar is to educate and sensitise the target audience such as senior pastors, church founders, overseers and ministry leaders about the law of the nation. As a dual citizen of heaven and earth, in as much as you must obey the law and commandments of God for eternity so also you should always obey the law of the land. This programme attracts pastors and general overseers from all over Nigeria and other West Africa countries colonised by the British before independence.

“It is yearly programme but this year’s seminar focuses on the law that guides the churches in the country and how to handle your ministry with credibility, transparency and accountability so that you don’t disappoint those that repose confidence in you and how you lead your church without flouting the law.”

The seminar will attract professional speakers and lawyers that know more about the laws that guide the churches in Nigeria and other countries. Among them are Dr. Akin-John with 25 years experience on the yearly seminar with church leaders and founders and Mr. Tom Vincent from South Africa to impact a wealth of knowledge with credibility and transparency. a statement added that “accomodation is guaranteed around the seminar venue and transportation for the participants to the venue on daily basis.”
