The Senate has announced the names of chairmen and vice-chairmen of its 69 standing committees just as it proceeded on its end of session recess.
It resumes plenary session on the 24th of September, 2019.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, who announced the names Tuesday, disclosed that his main challenger in the contest for the Senate Presidency, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, has been made the chairman of the committee on army while a former Gombe State governor, Danjuma Goje, who withdrew from the race a week to the election became the chairman of the committee on Marine and land transport.
The chairmanship of the Appropriation Committee went to Senator Jibrin Barau.
