Service chiefs, IGP storm Maiduguri ahead Buhari’s visit

Ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Maiduguri, Borno State, today, to assess the security situation in the North East, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, has arrived the state capital with other service chiefs.

Ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Maiduguri, Borno State, today, to assess the security situation in the North East, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, has arrived the state capital with other service chiefs.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Irabor’s entourage are Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Awwal Gambo; and Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), Maj-Gen. Samuel Adebayo.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali, who arrived earlier, received the service chiefs at the Maiduguri Airport from where they proceeded to headquarters of Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Hadin Kai.

Governor Babagana Zulum, in a special broadcast, said the President would appraise the security situation and inaugurate some viable projects executed by the federal and state governments during the visit.
