Seven-year-old girl, mother, aunty die after meal in A’Ibom

A seven -year old girl, her mother, Uduakobong, aged 30 and aunty, Blessing , 18, have died after eating an evening meal in Akwa Ibom.

The deceased, who lived at Obio Etoi, near the Nest of Champions International Stadium, were said to have eaten rice and stew before going to bed the previous night.
 
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, who disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Uyo on Monday, said their corpses have been evacuated from their home.

 
He added that the commissioner, Andrew Amiengheme, has ordered an immediate investigation into the cause of the death.
 
“In another development, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, acting on a report received from one Solomon Pelen Solomon that  his brother, one Ubong Pelen Solomon was stabbed by one Samuel Cosmos Akpan after an altercation on August 7, 2021  about 10:00a.m., and that he was taken to UniUyo Medical Centre, where he gave up the ghost, Operatives of ‘A’ Division, Barracks Road said they responded swiftly, located and arrested the suspect at Idah Okpo Lane, Off Urua Ikpa Road, Uyo.  
 
“The scene of crime was visited and the corpse deposited at the mortuary.  
 
“The suspect has confessed to the crime and will have his day in court at the completion of the investigation.”  

“Also, the command has removed the lifeless bodies and commenced investigation into the cause of death of two sisters identified as UduakObong aged 30, Blessing aged 18 and UduakObong 7 years old daughter at their residence at Obio Etoi, near the Nest of Champions International Stadium.
 
Preliminary findings show they ate rice and stew before going to bed the previous night of the sad incident.”
