Blames funding on decay in education sector
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has expressed worry over the refusal by most Nigerians to take the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) jab.

He told journalists in Yola, Adamawa State, that the Federal Government could cater for the vaccination of all Nigerians adults, to prevent them from getting the deadly virus, especially the new variant known as omicron.

“The omicron is very deadly; it kills faster. So, the only way you can save your life and others is to go for test and take the COVID-19 jabs to avoid spreading the killer disease,” he stated.

Mustapha, who reunited with his classmates after 51 years of leaving Hong Government Secondary School, blamed the decay in the education sector on poor funding and free education without making provision for alternative funding.

Mustapha, who graduated from the school in 1970, promised to team up with his classmates to save the school from total collapse.

He added: “The education crisis is not only in the North; it is a problem confronting the entire country. Funding of education sector is poor; training of instructors is not there. We were treated as kings in school and I think that made us to study very well. Free education is introduced without alternative funding.”
