Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, Senator Shehu Sani, has promised to rescue Kaduna residents from the grip of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and end insecurity.

Addressing the press at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in the state, yesterday, Sani lamented that terrorists have taken over the state, determining who should live or die.

The eighth National Assembly senator said Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s administration has proved incapable of ending insecurity in the state because of lack of political will.

“Why is it that in most of the North West states, it is only Kaduna that there are killings by bandits everyday and crisis in most parts of the state? Go to Jigawa, Kano, Gombe and Bauchi, there are no banditry and killings.

“But, here in Kaduna, there are killings every day, crisis in Southern Kaduna, and the present government is presiding over a divided state as if we are under apartheid regime. They are not uniting the people. The people should not allow this to continue in 2023,” Sani added.

The civil rights activist unveiled his agenda for the state. “One thing is paramount – unity, which is necessary for development and sustenance of democracy. That I will promote in Kaduna.”

“Working to unite southern and northern parts of Kaduna will be my primary aim; not to promote apartheid as it is today.

“You can also see, the government has become hopeless in bringing insecurity to an end. We are ready to bring the state to the path of peace and end this mindless security challenges.”
