Factional National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction in Adamawa State, has been locked out of the next Saturday’s council poll, by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC).

Chairman of the commission, Isa Shitima, confirmed the exclusion of the candidates presented by Sheriff’s faction, saying that Senator Ahamed Markafi, the acting chairman of PDP, who is recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, has communicated to him officially to accept the PDP candidates from the Joel Madaki led-PDP.

Shitima who spoke yesterday in Yola, said that the commission had concluded the screening of all candidates presented by the Madaki-led PDP leadership in the state, adding that only candidates screened by the electoral commission that would participate in next Saturday’s council poll in the state.

“PDP acting national chairman has officially communicated to me asking my commission to only accept the candidates list from Joel Madaki, so I have to obey the directive of the national leadership of the PDP. So, whoever that has issues, should go to his party and resolve his party problem, we are not part of any political problem,” he stated.
