Six people have died in a road crash involving a Mercedes Benz car, which rammed into another vehicle at Utagba Uno junction umusadege Kwale in Ndokwa West Local Council of Delta State.
An eyewitness said the accident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. when some market women were going to market in the early hours of the day.
The Guardian learnt that the bodies of the victims have been deposited at the General hospital morgue, Ogwashi Uku, in Aniocha south Local Council of the state.
When contacted, the State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) Ibrahim Abubakar, who confirmed the accident, said the victims were three males and three females.
The Commander advised motorists to avoid over speeding and driving at night, especially when they have issues with their sight.
He said the two vehicles were “scattered into pieces and it was difficult identifying the victims as a result of the impact of the collision”.
“We couldn’t find the registration numbers of the two vehicles, either people took them away or because of the impact we couldn’t just locate them.
“Two of the victims were trapped under the truck and it took our men a hectic time to push out the truck, before we could bring the dead out,” he added.
