The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has commended the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, in tackling the security challenges in Kaduna State, while urging urgent measures to track down the kidnappers of 177 victims in Kajuru and to secure the freedom of the Christian worshippers.

At a press conference on Thursday, officials of SOKAPU, led by the National President, Tabara Samuel Kato, commended Governor Sani for taking the time to visit Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area to commiserate with the community that had been attacked by bandits, at the height of the unfortunate abduction of the victims, saying, “It is worthy of note that Governor Sani is the first Governor ever to visit the community and there and then issued a directive to the Commissioner of Works to prompt him on the issue of the road”.

According to Kato, “the governor pronounced that hospital, security presence, and other infrastructural amenities shall be provided to the community with dispatch.”

Besides, he said that “the President and Governor’s usual untiring and concerted efforts at deploying security mechanisms to ensure the protection of lives and property since assumption of office in the last two years running remain worthy of appreciation, encouragement and commendation. No doubt there are some unavoidable hitches here and there, which are inherent in every human endeavour.”

“Despite the hitches, the federal and state governments are hereby encouraged to continue intensifying efforts to secure the safe release of the kidnapped victims and to unleash a total crackdown on the activities of armed bandits and kidnappers in all parts of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large,” he added.

Kato continued: “A very special thanks goes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the various developmental strides he is making for the good of Nigeria and its citizens. Of particular note is the recent appointment of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) as the Minister of Defence, shortly after his retirement from active service.”

Also worthy of note and appreciation, the SOKAPU leader remarked, “is the growing yearning of Nigerians across all manner of social divisions, calling for the consideration of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) as the next Presidential running mate to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“In this regard, the entire Southern Kaduna People are appreciative of this wonderful gesture by Nigerians and happily embrace it. With profound humility, we support the project and pray that it succeeds. We hereby declare unequivocally our total readiness and resolve to continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in every ramification of their endeavours,” he added.
