Soludo condoles with Anglican Communion, family over Archbishop’s death

Governorof Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, has condoled the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, over the death of its former Dean, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa. He was 83 years of age.

Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, has condoled the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, over the death of its former Dean, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa. He was 83 years of age.

A statement issued by the Secretary General of the Church of Nigeria, Bishop Anthony Poggo, confirmed his death, on Monday.

Soludo had, on behalf of the state government and people of the state, conveyed his condolences to the Anikwenwa family, as well as Province of the Niger. He also condoled with the Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, over the loss.

The governor noted that the late Archbishop was a man, who devoted his life to the service of God and humanity, adding that he lived an exemplary life worthy of commendation.

Soludo described the late Archbishop as a man held in high esteem for his meritorious service in the vineyard of God, and legacies he left in the state as a foremost prelate.

He, therefore, prayed to God to grant him rest and comfort the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, as well as the people he left behind.

Archbishop Anikwenwa was the former Archbishop of Province II and the Bishop Emeritus of Awka Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
