Spokesman debunks withdrawal of Iyase Ogwashi certificate
Spokesman for the Iyase of Ogwashi Uku Kingdom, Lawrence Okafor, has debunked online media report that the Delta State Government has withdrawn the certificate of recognition/registration issued to Chief Mike Nwaukoni as the Iyase of Ogwashi Uku Kingdom.
In a statement issued in Asaba, Okafor described the online report as fake news, baseless, incorrect and of no consequence.
It urged the public to discountenance the information, insisting that no legal pronouncement had been made on the matter since it was before a court of competent jurisdiction.
It maintained that the report was not only misleading, false and uncharitable, but a calculated attempt to undermine judicial process, stating that as a responsible and law-abiding citizen, the Iyase would await and abide by the decision of the court.
