The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has said it has disbursed over N1.72 billion in institutional fees for 20,000 students.

This is even as it has approved 260,000 loans consisting of institutional fees and upkeep loans.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyerr, stated this at a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja.

He clarified that while the institutional loans were sent directly to the students, stipends would be sent directly to applicants.
