Taraba gov loses sister four days after attack
Younger sister of the governor of Taraba, Atsi Kefas, who was reportedly shot in Wukari Local Council of the state, has passed on. Her demise followed the gun injuries she sustained during the incident, which occurred at Kente village.
Until her death, the state government had not been able to brief the press on the exact circumstances surrounding her being shot. While some groups claimed banditry, others have continued to argue that the incident was an accidental discharge from one of the security operatives attached to the vehicle they were travelling in.
Amid the disputations, the state police command, through its spokesperson, Usman Abdullahi, has stated that the occurrence was an armed robbery attack. The 44-year-old, it was gathered, died at a private hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving treatment after being transferred from the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari.
