The Complete Woman (TCW) initiative is organising a platform to bring women in Lagos together, to equip them on health awareness and how to prevent life-threatening diseases common to the female gender.

The medical outreach tagged: “Pathway to Healthy Living in Times Like These,” is scheduled to take place at the Police College, Oba Akinjobi Way, Government Reserved Area (GRA), Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

TCW’s founder and national president, Tunrayo Falade, in a statement, yesterday, said Ikeja Local Council and some private organisations will sponsor the outreach, to be coordinated by Mrs. Folawe Oshiame.

She said: “Concerns about health challenges confronting modern-day women have inspired the programme, and organisers have promised to bring qualified health practitioners to teach and create awareness on the most prevalent diseases among the women folk.

“In the world we live in today, a lot of women are coming down with different kinds of ailments and are losing their lives in large numbers on a daily basis.

“This is so either because they are not aware or they do not know how to manage these ailments.

“The major highlights of the medical outreach include Health Talks on cancer awareness; general health tips; question and answer session; physical exercise; free medical consultation and free drugs; medical check-up; eye screening and dental check; cervical cancer screening; and family planning counselling and services.

“There will also be free distribution of mosquito nets to all participants expected to be between the ages of 20 and 65 years.

“Among the guest speakers is a breast cancer survivor, who will share her story to create awareness on breast cancer and how she managed the condition.

“ Managing Director of Fuller Health Hospital, Dr. Efe Dunoi-Afam, will be the coordinator of the medical doctors at the event.

She will be sensitising participants on cervical cancer and will be available for free consultation along with members of her team.

“Chief Executive Officer, Gloryview Eye Clinic, Dr. Mercy Udeagwu, will head the Eye Screening team, while Mr. Anthony Mgbeji, CEO, Tonero Dental Services  will coordinate the dental services at the event.

“Also, there shall be a teenage girls conference tagged “Beautiful, Brainy and Blossoming” on the same day and venue (separate space) by 9:00a.m. where discussions around menstrual hygiene, self-development, skill acquisition on how to make reusable pads, sexual abuse & sex education will take place.

“ Here, participants will have access to a counsellor each, who will be available to guide the young ones appropriately.” The Guardian gathered that TCW will distribute sanitary pads to all the participants among several other gestures at the event.

The Complete Woman Initiative was formed in May 2020 by Barr Falade to mould and re-mould  21st women and girls to be well-rounded through regular online and on-site training, empowerment programmes, seminars, life-building activities and tasks.
