Terrorists have released a female corps member, Faith Onoriode, who was kidnapped with others, after spending over two months in captivity.

She was kidnapped with other travellers along the Kaduna-Abuja road by bandits, on her way to Jigawa State for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Guardian gathered that her relatives had paid N2 million, bought a motorcycle and five Tecno phones with N100,000 recharge card as ransom. They also reportedly paid N300,000 to deliver the motorcycle.

Onoriode is a Biology/Microbiology graduate of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe, Oghara, who was posted to the orientation camp in Jigawa State.

Few days after her abduction, the gunmen called her relatives demanding ransom, after which they agreed to provide N2 million cash, five new Tecno phones, a new motorcycle and a recharge card of N100,000.

Confirming her release, her brother, Festus Onoriode, said her sister, who was freed on Sunday, May 29, was undergoing medical attention.

Meanwhile, when The Guardian called the Kaduna police spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, for comments, there was no response.
