The Guardian’ s Jeremiah shines at PwC media awards
The Guardian Energy Correspondent, Kingsley Jeremiah, has won the PwC Media Excellence Award.
Kingsley secured victory in the sustainability category with his entry “Feasting on the forbidden: Tales of unending wildlife, environmental crimes”, which was supported by a pan nonprofit organization, Green Growth Africa.
The story exposed how trading of endangered wildlife go on freely and significantly unchecked in Nigeria. It also revealed how forest reserves are also rapidly in danger against the backdrop of rising population, economic downturn, poverty, growing insecurity, and child labour.
Business Day’s Isaac Anyaogu and Premium Time’s AbdulKareem Mojeed came second and third in the category.
The PwC awards celebrate the best of business journalism every in six categories of tax and fiscal policy reporting, finance and capital markets reporting, SMEs reporting, business and economy Reporting, special investigative reporting and sustainability reporting.
Valid entries for this edition were 230 compared to 221 in 2022 when the number of categories were four.
