Tinubu celebrates ex-CDS, Irabor, at 60

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated General Lucky Eluonye Irabor (rtd), former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), on the occasion of his 60th birthday on Sunday.

General Irabor, who hails from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, served as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, the nation’s highest military position, at a critical period in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.

The President extolled General Irabor’s exemplary leadership and patriotic service to the nation, describing him as “a true war commander and defender.”

“He was courageous. General Irabor remains one of the most remarkable soldiers this country has ever produced,” President Tinubu remarked.

The President also commended the retired General for his recent book on the Boko Haram insurgency, launched last Friday in Abuja, noting that it would deepen public understanding of the insurgency and contribute to efforts to tackle similar security challenges in the future.

At the launch, General Irabor explained that the publication was intended for soul-searching and not to indict anyone. President Tinubu wished General Irabor many more years of good health and continued service to the nation.
