Tinubu eulogises Ayangburen of Ikoroduland on 10th coronation anniversary

President Bola Tinubu has described the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Land, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, as a man of integrity, hard work, and enduring commitment to the development of Ikorodu.

In a congratulatory letter, personally signed by the president to celebrate the monarch’s 10th year anniversary on the throne, titled: “Ayangburen of Ikorodu at 10: A Special Tribute To Oba Kabiru Shotobi By President Tinubu,” he eulogises the monarch’s commitment to cleaning the ancient town and his salutary role in the passage of a bill on the menace of land grabbers in the area.

Recall that activities kick-starting the coronation anniversary commence today, with an array of programmes to make the event colourful.

He said since the monarch ascended the throne in August 2015, he has engendered a good understanding and a robust working relationship among traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division and Lagos State.

“More than ever before, I learnt that the Obas in the division now work in harmony. Oba Shotobi has also been instrumental in the emergence of other traditional rulers and Chiefs in Ikorodu Division.

“The Ayangburen of Ikorodu is as remarkable as Ikorodu town. Ikorodu is uniquely located in Lagos State, the Southwest and Nigeria. Because of its location, Ikorodu is the gateway to the country’s hinterlands.

“As Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, I developed a special relationship with Ikorodu. I opened up the old Ikorodu Division by creating additional councils, building roads and other infrastructure projects, and promoting the town’s development.

“The Ayangburen clocks 10 years on the throne of his forebears on August 10, 2025. I salute him for his integrity, hard work and enduring commitment to developing Ikoroduland,” he said.

While praying to God to grant the monarch more years of impactful reign, he wished him a peaceful and prosperous reign for Ikorodu and his people, to grow and develop in leaps and bounds.
