Tinubu ex-adviser Audu to register new party, ARC

INEC

As the 2027 poll approaches, Dr. Aliyu Audu, who is the former Special Advisor on Public Affairs to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approached the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of the African Renaissance Congress (ARC).

The request for the formal registration of the new political party was submitted to the INEC National Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, in a letter dated 22nd August 2025.

Audu, who is the Convener of the African Renaissance Movement (ARM), in the letter on behalf of the trustees and founding members of the group, described the ARC as not merely another political association, but a movement of rebirth, renewal, and rescue, inspired by the timeless symbolism of “Noah’s Ark.”

He maintained that Nigeria, which he described as Africa’s heartbeat, is at a historical crossroads, with rampant corruption, broken leadership, systemic injustice, and spiritual disconnection threatening to sink the collective destiny of the citizenry.

He explained that just as Noah’s Ark preserved humanity in the midst of a flood, the ARC seeks to serve as a vessel of political, spiritual, and economic redemption.

He further stated that the ARC particularly seeks to rescue Nigeria in 2027 through a new style of governance rooted in competence, conscience, and compassion, and to catalyze Africa’s rebirth, positioning Nigeria as a continental leader in sustainable development, ideological clarity, and spiritual renewal.

He added that the ARC seeks to offer Nigerians a new covenant — a political home built not on selfish coalitions or stomach infrastructure, but on values, vision, and verifiable impact.

“ARC seeks to manifest as a political party of conscience and credibility, a continental force for integration, dignity, and prosperity, aside from ensuring a youth-powered revolution of minds and morals, aligning governance with data, innovation, and God’s higher order,” he noted.

He thereby pledged that the ARC is prepared to operate in full compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 as amended) and the Electoral Act 2022, and will be committed to the transparency and accountability required of political institutions under INEC’s supervision.
