The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has empowered 1,200 beneficiaries in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State under the Phase III of its NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme (NSEP).

 

The intervention designed to combine technological innovation with practical economic support was part of wide range initiative of the agency aimed at scaling cleaner energy solution in the country.

 

Besides, NASENI is broadening to support across the country to improving household livelihoods, and strengthening economic resilience at the grassroots.

 

Unveiling the empowerment programme at Kabo town, Kabo local government are, Kano on Saturday, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said the initiative was particularly significant because it aligned with NASENI’s broader commitment to renewable and cleaner energy solutions.

 

According to him, the home based solution is targeted to elicit energy-efficient, reduce reduce dependence on traditional fuels, while facilitating Nigeria’s transition to low-carbon and net-zero future.

 

He said the energy transition must go beyond discussions at conferences and reach Nigerian homes, communities and households, enhance the rational behind NASENI’s intervention.

 

“At NASENI, we believe the energy transition must not be something we only discuss at conferences. It must reach our homes, our communities and our people,” he said.

 

The NASENI chief executive explained that the Support Pack was intended to provide immediate assistance to beneficiary households while offering additional financial support capable of stimulating small-scale economic activities and improving livelihoods.

 

He said the programme was consistent with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the administration’s focus on ensuring that economic growth, technological advancement and sustainable development translated into tangible benefits for Nigerians at the grassroots.

 

Halilu urged the 1,200 beneficiaries to make effective use of the items and support provided, stressing that the interventions should be viewed as tools for improving household welfare and building greater economic resilience.

 

In their separate remarks, some of the beneficiaries applauded the Federal government intervention, which they hope will address health implications in the use of the local cooking system.
