President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, on his birthday, describing him as a dedicated lawmaker with a record of legislative achievement.

In a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu acknowledged Kalu’s performance since his election in 2019 to represent Bende Federal Constituency, noting his role in several key legislative efforts.

“Honourable Kalu has been a seasoned parliamentarian who has demonstrated legislative acumen and commitment,” the statement said.

Tinubu highlighted Kalu’s involvement in the passage of several major laws, including the Student Loan Act of 2024, the Nigerian Startup Act of 2022, and the South East Development Commission Act.

He also noted Kalu’s representation of Nigeria at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), where, according to the president, he has used the platform to advocate for the country’s interests internationally.

“Honourable Kalu has been a worthy ambassador of Nigeria at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), leveraging the platform to champion the nation’s interest on the global stage,” Tinubu said.

The president concluded his message with a prayer for Kalu’s continued good health, strength, and wisdom, and expressed hope for many more years of service to the nation.
