Ahead of the 2027 general elections, President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday attended the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) Renewed Hope Ambassadors Summit at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President was represented at the strategic gathering by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The summit drew top political figures across the executive and legislative arms of government, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau; and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
Members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also in attendance, alongside serving and former governors elected on the party’s platform and other key stakeholders from across the country.
In a notable development, the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led by its President, Joe Ajaero, was present at the summit, signalling organised labour’s engagement with the ruling party’s ongoing reform and mobilisation discussions.
The summit, convened under the PGF’s Renewed Hope Ambassadors platform, forms part of broader consultations and strategic alignments within the APC as political actors begin early positioning ahead of the next general election cycle.
