Pledges to improve power supply, stop estimated billing if elected president

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, yesterday, promised to not only stop estimated electricity billing in the country, but will also ensure that power supply is improved, noting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 16 years in power was a waste.

In a campaign rally in Abakaliki, Tinubu maintained that he would pull the country out of its present economic situation, asking South East, and, indeed, all Nigerians to vote APC in next year’s general elections.

The APC presidential standard bearer promised to make South East the Taiwan of Africa.

While announcing his desire to improve education, health and other sectors, including functioning rail system if elected president, Tinubu said he will negotiate and dialogue with agitators to champion a way forward.

He assured that he would keep his promise of developing all parts of the country, including Ebonyi State, if elected president in 2023.

Tinubu, who was conferred with a traditional title of Dike di Oha Mma (a Hero Loved by All), commended Governor David Umahi for his giant infrastructure strides in the state.

He appreciated the governor and the APC governorship candidate in the state, Francis Nwifuru, for their support for his candidacy. He assured that he would repay their solidarity.

Tinubu said: “You can be an engineer 10 times over; but if you don’t love your people, you may not develop your house not to talk of the state.

“When we entered this Executive Council Chambers, one would think we are in the United Nations, this is a product of intelligence and ingenuity.

“I see that the governor is committed to development programmes of his people. You are doing a wonderful job; please, remember to document some of these achievements.

“Those of you who want to suffer for democracy must vote. It is a commitment to progress and development; that is why our party is All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Umahi applauded Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari for their support, maintaining that APC will win the state in next year’s general elections.
