Sympathises with govt, and citizens on flooding

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has assured the people of Kogi State that they will get all their due when he is elected as President of Nigeria.

He sympathised with the government and people of Kogi over the recent flooding that ravaged the state and other parts of the country, assuring them that, as President, he would tackle the flood in the state.

Appreciating the large crowd that trooped into Lokoja from all over the state to demonstrate support for him and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, the former Lagos State governor promised that the voice and demands of Kogi people would be heard loud and clear, not only in the campaign council but also in his administration, if he wins next year’s election.

The APC flagbearer disclosed this, yesterday, in Lokoja, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi.

According to him, building on the successes of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, he would work assiduously to confront security, revamp the economy by targeting double-digit Gross Domestic Product (GDP), increase electricity to power industries, businesses and homes, and empower the people through jobs, affordable loans and mortgages, among others.

The crowd, led by Bello, ended the solidarity walk at the Kogi APC Campaign Secretariat.

The speech, entitled ‘Message of Appreciation to Kogi State people, reads: “I extend my warmest greetings to you all. I appreciate this tumultuous crowd. Let me assure you that Kogi will occupy the right of place in our administration. You are the Confluence State. You are important to us in the APC and the country.

“Apart from the presence of your governor in the Presidential Campaign Council, one of your sons, James Faleke, is the Secretary of our Campaign Council. So you are ably and adequately represented.”

He thanked all for their presence in large numbers, adding: “The Tinubu/Shettima presidency will not forget you. We will always remember this day.”
