
President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to have faith in the country as a one indivisible to achieve development. At a lecture/colloquium in honour of the 61st birthday of President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, yesterday, in Abuja, the Nigerian leader during the programme, themed
“Legislative Agenda for National Development,” described the celebrant as a man committed to the value of national development. He added that the former governor of Akwa Ibom State was a leader par excellence, always willing to give his quota to the development of the country.
More so, the said efforts of his administration to transform the economy were yielding results with the support of the National Assembly.
“Having Senate President Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Abbas, on my side is enough for me to succeed, and we will succeed,” he said. On his part, Akpabio said the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration “is real, and this government is a correcting government.
“Our legislative agenda is going to be people-centred.” Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen said the celebrant had exhibited strategic thinking and innovative leadership all through his personal and public careers.
Chairman of the occasion, Anyim Pius, stated that Akpabio has a date with destiny.He stressed the need to align legislative agenda with that of the executive to reset national priorities and redefine development.
