Town union confers Omeje with title

Members of Nsukka Town Union (NTU) at home and the diaspora have honoured the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Council, Chief Patrick Kenechukwu Omeje with the title of Okpokoribe 1 of Nsukka, in recognition of his inclusiveness in governance and provision of people-oriented projects in the community.

Chairman of the occasion, Onogwu Fidelis Okoro listed provision of roads, infrastructural facilities, adequate security, health care services and inauguration of several people-oriented projects scattered across the 20 wards in Nsukka Local Council as some of Omeje’s achievements, pointing out the on going construction of Nsukka Legislative Complex, Nsukka South Legislative Secretariat, renovation of Nsukka West Development Centre Secretariat, construction of the ICT centre, and procurement of new transformers for various communities amongst others as tangibles that clearly mark him out as a leader with a difference.

The Igwe of Owerre-Nsukka, Chief Emeka Ugwu who described Omeje as “an illustrious son in whom we are well pleased”, performed the coronation ceremony.
