Traditional rulers commend Owa monarch for leadership, seek government’s support

Traditional rulers have commended the leadership of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers headed by the Obi of Owa, Dr. E. O. Efeizomor II, saying he had conducted the council’s affairs creditably.

Traditional rulers have commended the leadership of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers headed by the Obi of Owa, Dr. E. O. Efeizomor II, saying he had conducted the council’s affairs creditably. 

They gave the commendation during its monthly meeting in Asaba yesterday and passed a vote of confidence in the Owa monarch for his leadership style, sense of direction and concern for the welfare of the traditional institution in the state.  

Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, His Majesty, Mike Omeru, Okori I, who moved the motion for a vote of confidence in the leadership of the council, was supported by the Obi of Abavo, Uche Irenuma II Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom, Ovietobore
Anthony Ogbogbo.

They extolled the qualities of the Obi of Owa, who according to them, had brought his experience from the old Western Region, Mid-West and Bendel State to bear on Delta State in mobilising the traditional institution to support successive administrations.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the council lauded the contributions of its members towards promoting peaceful co-existence among the people, ethnic harmony, mutual trust, understanding and strength in diversity among Delta people.

They particularly acknowledged the inspiring leadership qualities and administrative ingenuity, which Efeizomor had brought to bear in piloting the affairs of the council, since the current leadership came on board.  

The monarchs also applauded the strides made by the Okowa administration in bringing more dividends of democracy to Delta citizens and pledged their continued support to enable the governor finish strong.
