Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has said its enforcement operation, led by General Manager, Bakare Oki, in conjunction with relevant security agencies, impounded 78 illegally parked containerised trucks on top High Bridge, by Lilly Pond, inward the Apapa and Sifax axis of Ijora (Olopa).

The agency said the move was to ensure seamless traffic for Lagosians during the festive season and beyond.

In a statement, the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed that the early Sunday morning operation lasted between 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

According to Oki, enforcement will be continuous with zero tolerance towards indiscriminate parking and impediments in the axis.

He called on motorists to take possession of the road and not hesitate to inform LASTMA of any broken down or abandoned trailer or truck via the agency’s hotlines.
