Tragedy, as three kids suffocate in stationary vehicle

Tragedy struck at the Police Mobile Force (PMF) 5 Squadron Barrack, Benin, Edo State, on Sunday evening after three kids suffocated while playing in a stationary vehicle.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 6:00 p.m. in front of the base’s administrative block.

The children, aged between four years and 20 months, were said to have gotten stuck inside the vehicle and passed away before people noticed they were inside.

According to sources, the boys, all children of PMF operatives, were discovered unconscious when their parents started looking for them. They were rushed to the hospital where they later died.

It was gathered that the entire barrack was thrown into mourning over the news of their death, with wailings that attracted people outside the facility. A source, who hinted on the incident, told newsmen that the children were immediately buried.

Several calls to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Edo State, Chidi Nwabuzor, were neither answered nor returned at the time of this report.
